The story unfolds with the chilling introduction of George Maben, a drifter whose presence in the family home quickly deteriorates into conflict with Maureen. Her courageous decision to expel him, driven by concerns for her daughter Clare and her unborn grandchild, tragically precipitates her demise. Maben's subsequent actions reveal a disturbing capacity for violence, stemming from his resentment. The investigation meticulously unravels his attempts to conceal his crime, with crucial evidence from CCTV footage and phone records ultimately dismantling his alibi and leading to his apprehension and conviction.
