HATCHBACK

Cinemavixion Review

In "Hatchback," director Eric H. Sheffield presents a quirky, character-driven narrative centered on Wyatt, a journalist aspirant battling narcolepsy, and Fern, a young woman on a quest to find her missing father. Their paths converge around a trusty Toyota Tercel, setting the stage for a road movie through the city's underbelly. While the film, released in 2019, boasts a premise ripe for exploration of themes like hope and connection amidst urban decay, its execution, as suggested by a 4.4 rating on IMDb, may leave some viewers wanting more. The performances of Larkin Bell and Sri Chilukuri, who reprise their roles from the local data, form the emotional core, navigating a developing relationship against the backdrop of their individual searches. "Hatchback" offers a glimpse into a world often overlooked, aiming for poignant moments that resonate with the struggles of its protagonists.
