HATCHBACK

Cinemavixion Review

Eric H. Sheffield's "Hatchback" presents a compelling, albeit low-key, narrative centered on the unlikely alliance between Wyatt, a journalist keen on career advancement, and Fern, a young woman living out of her car as she embarks on a quest to find her missing father. The film masterfully navigates the derelict corners of Los Angeles, using the urban decay as a backdrop for a story that explores themes of ambition, deception, and the complexities of human connection. While the external data lists the genre as 'Comedy', the plot summary suggests a more dramatic and perhaps even poignant exploration of two individuals adrift in their own ways. The IMDb rating of 4.4/10 indicates a mixed reception, but the intriguing premise and the promise of a character-driven drama make "Hatchback" a film worth discovering for those drawn to independent cinema that delves into the fringes of society and the moral compromises one might make in pursuit of success or truth.
