HARVEY

Cinemavixion Review

Set against the backdrop of a stifling small town, 'Harvey' (2021) delves into the psyche of a young man grappling with disillusionment and the suffocating weight of familial expectations. The narrative takes a dark turn when a supposed mental breakdown gives way to a chilling mystery, fueled by fragmented memories and the persistent suspicion of a local sheriff. Johnny Alonso and Erin O'Brien deliver performances that anchor the film's descent into suspense, portraying characters caught in a web of secrets. While the film may not shy away from its thriller elements, it is the exploration of internal struggle and the unsettling ambiguity of truth that truly resonates. The direction, credited to Johnny Alonso and Ranelle Golden, crafts an atmosphere thick with unease, making 'Harvey' a compelling watch for those drawn to psychological mysteries.
