HAPPY HOUR SLASHER

Cinemavixion Review

In the realm of independent horror, 'Happy Hour Slasher' emerges as a surprisingly engaging tale of suburban dread. Set in a Philadelphia neighborhood grappling with the encroachment of trendy bars, the film centers on Sonny Garrison, proprietor of the last authentic corner pub. As patrons begin to vanish during the much-anticipated happy hour, the bar becomes a hotbed of speculation and fear. Director Ray Martin, who also stars as Sonny, crafts a narrative that blends slasher tropes with a keen observation of community anxieties and the changing social landscape. While the film may not boast blockbuster budgets, its strength lies in its grounded premise and the palpable atmosphere of unease it cultivates. The mystery surrounding the disappearances serves as a compelling hook, drawing viewers into the evolving dynamics of Sonny's bar as the community attempts to piece together the sinister events unfolding around them. 'Happy Hour Slasher' offers a unique flavor of horror, one that is as much about the 'who' and 'why' as it is about the unsettling 'when' – always during happy hour.
