HANDS OF STEEL

Cinemavixion Review

Sergio Martino's 'Hands of Steel' presents a compelling narrative of a cyborg grappling with his programmed destiny and burgeoning humanity. Daniel Greene delivers a stoic performance as Paco Queruak, a machine designed for destruction who finds himself seeking refuge and connection in the desolate American desert. The film masterfully blends elements of science fiction with a gritty, action-packed aesthetic, exploring themes of free will versus determinism. Greene's portrayal, alongside Janet Agren's resilient diner owner, forms the emotional core of this 1986 Italian production. While perhaps not as widely celebrated as some of its contemporaries, 'Hands of Steel' offers a thought-provoking journey into the nature of consciousness, making it a noteworthy entry for fans of the genre seeking substance beyond typical cyborg tropes.
