HAMPTON'S LEGION

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Forbes' "Hampton's Legion" offers a focused narrative on the enigmatic Confederate General Wade Hampton III, delving into his pivotal role during the Civil War. The film traces Hampton's journey from his early life through key battles, notably the First Battle of Bull Run. A compelling aspect is Hampton's personal investment in the war effort, where he not only led his men but also financed his own "Legion" when the Confederacy faced financial strain. The performances, particularly from Jezibell Anat and Jerry Chesser, anchor the historical drama, bringing to life the personal sacrifices and strategic complexities of the era. While the film explores the grand sweep of conflict, it remains intimately tied to Hampton's personal resolve and the loyalty of those who fought alongside him, making for a poignant historical account.
