HAMLET & HUTCH

Cinemavixion Review

"Hamlet & Hutch" is a poignant dramedy that deftly balances the lightheartedness of a small-town theatrical production with the profound challenges of Alzheimer's disease. Anchored by a touching performance from the legendary Burt Reynolds in his later years, the film follows a former Broadway star who, grappling with memory loss, finds solace and purpose in assisting his granddaughter and great-granddaughter with a local staging of Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Directed by Jared and Matthew Young, the narrative explores themes of family, legacy, and the enduring power of art. While the external data suggests a "TV-G" rating and a runtime of 90 minutes, the core emotional arc remains intact, offering a heartwarming, albeit bittersweet, look at intergenerational connection and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
