HAMLET AND HORATIO, BEYOND EVIL

Cinemavixion Review

Paul Warner's "Hamlet and Horatio, Beyond Evil" offers a poignant inversion of Shakespeare's classic tragedy, focusing instead on the enduring loyalty and love of Horatio. Presented in 2020, this retelling bravely shifts the narrative lens, exploring the profound impact of friendship and the struggle against overwhelming darkness through Horatio's steadfast devotion. The film champions the idea that love and memory can indeed serve as powerful forces, capable of preserving a spirit even in the face of death and corruption. Andrew Burdette and Themo Melikidze deliver performances that anchor this unique interpretation, inviting audiences to reconsider the familiar tale from a fresh, emotionally resonant perspective. It's a testament to the enduring power of connection in a world often consumed by malevolence.
