HALLOWEEN PARTY: TERRIFYING ENTITIES

Cinemavixion Review

Jay Dahl's 'Halloween Party: Terrifying Entities' plunges into the digital age's horror with a premise that feels both timely and chilling. The film centers on a college student whose casual interaction with a Halloween-themed computer meme inadvertently unleashes spectral horrors from her institution's shadowed history. While the setup promises a blend of supernatural dread and modern anxieties, the execution, as suggested by the limited available data, appears to lean into a more contained, perhaps even intimate, exploration of fear. The performances, particularly from Amy Groening, T. Thomason, and Marietta Laan, are tasked with navigating this delicate balance between the mundane and the monstrous. It's a narrative that taps into the contemporary unease surrounding our digital lives and the unseen consequences that can ripple from a single click, offering a fresh, albeit potentially niche, take on the haunted campus trope.
