Cinemavixion Review

The second installment of "Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern" continues the poignant and spirited journey of Benio Hanamura, adapting Waki Yamato's beloved manga with a blend of historical drama and personal resilience. Directed by Seimei Kidokoro, this 2018 Japanese animation delves deeper into Benio's complex emotional landscape as she grapples with the expectations of marriage and the harsh realities of war. The narrative skillfully navigates themes of love, loss, and societal change, set against the tumultuous backdrop of early 20th-century Japan. With a voice cast featuring talents like Saori Hayami and Mamoru Miyano, the film brings to life Benio's unwavering spirit and her quest for genuine connection amidst separation and potential heartbreak. While the initial release might have been a few years ago, "Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern Part 2" remains a compelling watch for its heartfelt storytelling and faithful adaptation of classic manga.
