Cinemavixion Review

Dan Snow embarks on a captivating journey along Hadrian's Wall, Rome's formidable northern frontier, in this illuminating documentary. The film meticulously explores the enduring physical remnants of this ambitious 122 AD project, tracing its path across northern England through its extensive network of walls, turrets, and forts. Snow delves into the compelling questions surrounding the wall's purpose: was it a strict barrier or a more fluid border? A monument to imperial ego or a crucial defensive fortification? The documentary also sheds light on the lives of those who inhabited the region and explores the wall's persistent presence in popular culture, even drawing parallels to the world of "Game of Thrones." It's a fascinating look at a monumental feat of engineering and its lasting legacy.
