GUYS AT PARTIES LIKE IT

Cinemavixion Review

"Guys at Parties Like It" plunges into the murky waters of fraternity hazing and the fraught transition to adulthood. The narrative centers on a pledge's misguided attempt to assert his masculinity through a sexual encounter, only to find his plans complicated by reality. The film explores themes of peer pressure, sexual awakening, and the often-uncomfortable gap between expectation and experience. The Coate brothers' direction navigates this sensitive subject matter with a focus on the psychological undercurrents, while the performances of Monica Garcia Bradley, Paige Sciarrino, and Pablo Sandstrom lend a grounded authenticity to the characters' struggles. It's a stark look at rites of passage and the anxieties that accompany them.
