GUERILLAS IN PINK LACE

Cinemavixion Review

George Montgomery directs and stars in "Guerillas in Pink Lace," a wartime adventure that plunges audiences into the chaos of the Japanese invasion of the Philippines. The narrative follows Murphy, a gambler seeking escape, who inadvertently finds himself disguised as a priest and escorting a group of showgirls amidst the unfolding conflict. When their escape plane is shot down, the unlikely companions are stranded on an enemy-held island, forcing Murphy to maintain his charade while navigating perilous circumstances. While the film's critical reception and awards may be scant, its premise offers a unique blend of survival thriller and dark comedy. Montgomery's dual role as director and lead actor brings a personal touch to the tale, exploring themes of deception, survival, and unexpected camaraderie under duress. The supporting cast, including Valerie Varda and Joan Shawlee, contribute to the colorful ensemble navigating the treacherous island terrain.
