GUARDIAN

Cinemavixion Review

John Terlesky's "Guardian" plunges viewers into the gritty underbelly of Los Angeles, where Detective John Kross (Mario Van Peebles) finds his past colliding with a present-day drug epidemic. The film masterfully weaves a narrative thread between a supernatural force encountered during Kross's Gulf War service and the insidious new drug, 'Chaos,' plaguing the city. Van Peebles delivers a compelling performance as a haunted detective, grappling with both external threats and internal demons. The supporting cast, including James Remar, lends solid gravitas to the unfolding mystery. While the film's supernatural elements may stretch credulity for some, its exploration of destiny and the lingering impact of trauma provides a thought-provoking core. "Guardian" offers a unique blend of urban crime thriller and supernatural horror, making it a noteworthy watch for those seeking a darker, more intense cinematic experience.
