GRIEFWALKER

Cinemavixion Review

Griefwalker offers a profound and often challenging exploration of mortality, anchored by the compelling presence of Stephen Jenkinson. This documentary thoughtfully dissects Western society's pervasive fear of death, contrasting it with perspectives that embrace our finite existence. Jenkinson, a Harvard-trained theologian, argues compellingly that understanding and even befriending our eventual end can illuminate the value of our present lives. The film masterfully intertwines evocative imagery of nature's cycles with intimate portrayals of individuals navigating the dying process and those who support them. Director Tim Wilson crafts a deeply reflective piece that encourages viewers to reconsider their relationship with death, ultimately presenting it not as an adversary, but as an integral, even prized, aspect of a fully lived life.
