GREY WOLVES 1939–1941 | THE EARLY U-BOAT WAR | FULL WWII DOCUMENTARY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the perilous early days of the U-boat war, from September 1939 to 1941. "Grey Wolves" depicts how, despite the Kriegsmarine's initial unreadiness, Admiral Doenitz's submarines managed to severely disrupt Britain's vital supply lines. The film utilizes striking imagery, much of it captured by German cameramen and presented for the first time, offering a visceral look at this critical phase of World War II. It highlights the significant toll these early submarine campaigns took on Allied shipping, setting the stage for the prolonged and brutal Battle of the Atlantic.
