GREEN FOR DANGER

Cinemavixion Review

Sidney Gilliat's "Green for Danger" is a masterclass in wartime suspense, seamlessly blending the tension of the London Blitz with a gripping hospital whodunit. Alastair Sim delivers a compelling performance as the astute Inspector Cockrill, tasked with unraveling a series of suspicious deaths within the confines of a besieged hospital. The film expertly navigates the claustrophobic atmosphere, making the audience question every character's motive. With its intricate plot, sharp dialogue, and a cast that brings depth to their roles, "Green for Danger" remains a standout British thriller from the 1940s. Its critical acclaim, evidenced by its strong showing on Rotten Tomatoes, and enduring popularity speak to its timeless appeal as a finely crafted mystery.
