GOLDSTONE

Cinemavixion Review

Ivan Sen's 'Goldstone' plunges viewers into the harsh realities of modern Australia, seen through the eyes of Indigenous Detective Jay Swan. Aaron Pedersen delivers a compelling performance as Swan, a man wrestling with personal demons while navigating the intricate web of crime and corruption in the frontier town of Goldstone. The film masterfully intertwines a missing persons investigation with broader themes of indigenous land rights and human trafficking, creating a narrative that is both a taut thriller and a poignant social commentary. Co-starring Alex Russell and Jacki Weaver, 'Goldstone' is a testament to Sen's skillful direction, offering a gritty, thought-provoking cinematic experience that earned critical acclaim, including a strong showing on Rotten Tomatoes. Its unflinching look at systemic issues ensures it resonates long after the credits roll.
