Cinemavixion Review

Narrated by the distinctive voice of Rip Torn, 'Ghost Towns of the Rockies' offers a captivating glimpse into the American West, utilizing historic footage primarily from the late 1940s. Originally receiving limited distribution in 1951, this documentary series has been enhanced with Torn taking on the persona of a sourdough prospector's ghost. This narrative device allows for an intimate, first-hand tour through legendary ghost towns, bringing to life the remnants of the Old West. The film explores iconic locations such as The Rockies, The Great Divide, and Pike's Peak, presenting a definitive look at the era's abandoned settlements.
