GENGHIS KHAN: THE EXTREME BRUTALITY OF THE MEDIEVAL MONGOL KING | HISTORY BY NUMBERS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the complex legacy of Genghis Khan, a figure often vilified in Western narratives for his notorious brutality. The film presents a balanced perspective, acknowledging the 'extreme violence and mass murders' that characterized his military campaigns, while simultaneously highlighting his remarkable achievements. Within a mere 25 years, he forged the largest contiguous empire in history, a testament to his strategic genius. The documentary doesn't shy away from the terrifying methods employed to instill fear, such as the gruesome execution of adversaries. Yet, it also sheds light on his progressive policies, including religious tolerance and a commitment to meritocracy, offering a nuanced portrait of a historical titan whose impact continues to resonate.
