GAILS NEW BOYFRIEND

Cinemavixion Review

In "Gail's New Boyfriend," director Jim Mendrinos crafts a peculiar romantic narrative that deliberately blurs the lines between the human and the artificial. The film centers on Gail, a woman entangled in a passionate affair with her new boyfriend, a ventriloquist's dummy. This unconventional premise is further complicated by a backdrop of a city-wide puppet hunt, adding a layer of surreal suspense to the unfolding love story. Amanda Nicholas and Chris Catalano lead the cast, navigating the complex emotional terrain of a relationship that defies societal norms and perhaps even the laws of nature. The film's exploration of love, identity, and the uncanny makes for a thought-provoking, albeit unusual, cinematic experience.
