FUTURE SOLDIER

Cinemavixion Review

Ed Kirk's 'Future Soldier' plunges viewers into a grim 2002AD, offering a glimpse into a dystopian future where bounty hunter Mo Harrington (Sean Earl McPherson) uncovers a deeply rooted conspiracy. The film, also written by Kirk, benefits from a committed performance by McPherson, who anchors the narrative with a weary determination. Yasmine Alice and Ellie Pickering provide solid support, navigating the shadowy underworld alongside Harrington. While the plot treads familiar sci-fi noir territory, Kirk's direction imbues the story with a palpable sense of unease, complemented by a stark visual style. The film's relatively brief runtime ensures a focused, albeit sometimes bleak, viewing experience. 'Future Soldier' is a compelling, if understated, entry into the sci-fi genre, particularly for those drawn to gritty future-noir narratives.
