Cinemavixion Review

Frederic Raphael, an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, invites viewers on a profound intellectual journey in "From Jerusalem to America: Religion's Place in the 21st Century." This documentary eschews conventional narrative for a thoughtful exploration of faith and its role in contemporary society. Raphael embarks on a series of pilgrimages, commencing in Jerusalem, the historical nexus of monotheistic religions. His investigation extends to Buddhism and Islam in Asia, Catholicism in Spain, and culminates in an examination of Puritanism and fundamentalist movements in the USA. The film delves into fundamental questions about God, religious doctrine, and their evolving significance in a rapidly changing world. Through Raphael's insightful guidance, the documentary offers a compelling, multi-faceted perspective on the enduring power and diverse expressions of religion across cultures.
