FROM CRADLE TO JAIL: LOCKED UP BEFORE 18

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a stark and poignant look into the juvenile justice system through the lens of Aaron, a young man facing the daunting prospect of an 18th birthday while entangled in legal troubles. The film excels in illustrating the cyclical nature of youth crime, delving into the societal pressures and personal circumstances that often precipitate involvement with the law. By weaving in the narratives of other teenagers, it provides a multifaceted perspective on how family dynamics, peer influence, and broader life challenges shape the paths of these young individuals. The documentary doesn't shy away from the emotional weight of incarceration, effectively conveying the high stakes and the profound impact on the identities and futures of its subjects. It's a compelling, albeit somber, exploration of a critical societal issue, urging viewers to consider the complexities faced by youth on the brink of adulthood within an unforgiving system.
