FREE FRANCE: THE LIBERATION OF WWII PARIS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a compelling look at a pivotal moment in World War II: the liberation of Paris. It masterfully navigates the complex tapestry of global conflict, highlighting Germany's retreat from Russia and the fierce fighting in the Pacific, including the introduction of kamikaze tactics. The narrative progresses through significant events like the fall of Rome and the monumental D-Day landings, culminating in the triumphant return of Free France leader Charles de Gaulle and his troops to a liberated Paris. The film effectively captures the strategic shifts and the human drama inherent in such a world-altering period, providing valuable historical context for viewers interested in the latter stages of the European theater.
