FOURTH MAN OUT

Cinemavixion Review

Andrew Nackman's 'Fourth Man Out' offers a surprisingly tender and humorous look at friendship and self-discovery in a setting not often explored in LGBTQ+ narratives. The film centers on Adam, a Detroit-area car mechanic who, on the cusp of his 30th birthday, decides to come out to his lifelong, blue-collar friends. What follows is a journey filled with awkward conversations, unexpected reactions, and ultimately, a profound reaffirmation of their bond. The cast, led by Parker Young as Adam, delivers performances that are both authentic and heartfelt, navigating the complexities of loyalty and acceptance with genuine emotion. While the film tackles serious themes, it does so with a light touch, allowing the humor to arise naturally from the characters' interactions and the fish-out-of-water scenarios that ensue when Adam's new life begins to intersect with his old one. 'Fourth Man Out' is a charming and important film that celebrates the courage it takes to be true to oneself, even when it means challenging the expectations of those closest to you.
