FOUR RODE OUT

Cinemavixion Review

John Peyser's 'Four Rode Out' offers a compelling Western narrative that transcends simple good-versus-evil tropes. Set against a rugged landscape, the film follows a U.S. marshal on a mission to apprehend a Mexican bandit, a pursuit complicated by revelations that deepen the story's complexity. Pernell Roberts and Sue Lyon deliver performances that anchor the emotional core, navigating a plot where loyalties and truths are constantly in flux. The film's blend of classic Western elements with a more nuanced storyline about hidden motives and personal vendettas makes it a noteworthy entry in the genre. While its critical reception might be modest, its intricate plot and character dynamics invite viewers to look beyond the surface and appreciate the layered storytelling.
