William J. Hole Jr.'s "Four Fast Guns" plunges viewers into the dust-choked streets of Purgatory, a town teetering on the brink of lawlessness. Set in 1873, the narrative skillfully introduces a lone town-tamer, portrayed with stoic resolve by James Craig, whose arrival is met with a mixture of hope and apprehension. The film masterfully contrasts the tamer's efforts against the insidious influence of a malevolent saloon owner, who employs a trio of ruthless gunslingers to maintain his grip on the town. Martha Vickers and Edgar Buchanan lend significant support, adding depth to this classic Western tableau.
