FORGIVENESS

Cinemavixion Review

Alex Kahuam's "FORGIVENESS" plunges viewers into a disorienting and suspenseful narrative. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of mystery as three women awaken in an unfamiliar hospital setting, each grappling with a profound sensory deprivation: one deaf, one mute, and one blind. This stark premise immediately ignites curiosity about their shared predicament and the unsettling circumstances that brought them there. The performances by Alejandra Toussaint, Alejandra Zaid, and Jessica Ortiz are central to the film's success, conveying vulnerability and determination in the face of the unknown. Kahuam's direction skillfully navigates the claustrophobic environment, amplifying the psychological tension. While the plot unfolds as a puzzle, "FORGIVENESS" also explores themes of communication, trust, and the resilience of the human spirit when stripped of conventional means. It's a compelling watch that invites contemplation long after the credits roll.
