In the age of digital notoriety, "Followed" emerges as a chilling exploration of the lengths one might go for internet fame. The film centers on an aspiring social media influencer, "DropTheMike," who, along with his crew, ventures into a famously haunted hotel for what is intended to be a thrilling, sponsored content opportunity. What begins as a quest for viral success quickly devolves into a terrifying descent into genuine evil, probing the dark side of online ambition. Directed by Antoine Le, this 2018 thriller, starring Matthew Solomon and John Savage, garnered a respectable 76% on Rotten Tomatoes and achieved over $500,000 at the box office, indicating a solid reception for its suspenseful narrative and timely themes. While the IMDb rating stands at 4.9, the film's ability to tap into contemporary anxieties surrounding social media and the pursuit of fame makes it a noteworthy entry in the horror genre.
