FLY COLT FLY: THE BAREFOOT BANDIT

Cinemavixion Review

"Fly Colt Fly: The Barefoot Bandit" plunges into the compelling narrative of Colton Harris-Moore, a young man whose audacious evasion of authorities captivated the public imagination. This feature-length documentary transcends typical biographical filmmaking, weaving together documentary footage, striking graphic-novel-style animation, and dramatic recreations to paint a vivid portrait. The film adeptly navigates the duality of Harris-Moore's story, contrasting the harsh reality of a teenager driven to burglary by destitution with the larger-than-life persona of 'The Barefoot Bandit' that emerged in the media. It's a fascinating exploration of how circumstance, desperation, and media myth-making can converge to create a modern folk hero, prompting reflection on the societal forces that shape such extraordinary, albeit illicit, journeys.
