FIXED

Cinemavixion Review

Jez Alsop's 2021 thriller "Fixed" plunges audiences into a claustrophobic nightmare, anchored by a compelling performance from Nicholas Clarke. The film centers on a gambler whose attempt to start a new life is brutally interrupted when he's caught fixing a bareknuckle fight. Left for dead in a locked room with only his wits and a cell phone, Clarke's character must devise an escape plan before his vengeful boss arrives. The narrative, co-written by Ryan Davis, masterfully ratchets up the tension, making the confined setting a character in itself. While "Fixed" received one nomination, its tight pacing and adrenaline-fueled plot make it a noteworthy entry in the contained thriller genre, offering a raw and emotional experience that resonates long after the credits roll.
