FIGHTING TO LIVE

Cinemavixion Review

Edward F. Cline's 1934 Western, "Fighting to Live," presents a compelling narrative centered on loyalty and justice, even in the harsh landscape of the desert. Starring Marion Shilling, Steve Pendleton, and Reb Russell, the film delves into a moral quandary when a dog, initially abandoned to die, proves its worth by saving a life. The subsequent conflict, as villagers seek to condemn the animal for preying on their chickens, is resolved through a plea for a fair trial. While the film garnered a modest 5.0 rating on IMDb, its simple yet effective storytelling offers a glimpse into the Western genre's capacity for exploring themes of redemption and fairness. It stands as a testament to the enduring power of animal companionship and the importance of due process, regardless of the species involved.
