FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a fascinating glimpse into the ephemeral world of the Festival of Contemporary Art, held annually in the Nevada desert. Focusing on the ambitious 'The Space Whale' art project, director Scott Schneider immerses the viewer in the unique spirit of this gathering. We witness the human and technological hurdles faced by the artistic team, led by Matt Schultz, as they bring their vision to life. Beyond the specific project, the film captures the essence of the festival itself – a transient utopia built on principles of self-expression, community, and leaving no trace. It's a compelling look at a truly unique celebration of creativity and human endeavor.
