FAR OUT MAN

Cinemavixion Review

Tommy Chong takes the directorial reins and stars in 'Far Out Man,' a 1990 road trip comedy that follows an aging hippie on a cross-country quest to reunite with his family. While the film might not boast major accolades, Chong's unique perspective as a counter-culture icon infuses the narrative with a distinct flavor. The plot, centered on a journey of self-discovery and familial reconnection, offers a glimpse into a bygone era through the eyes of a character trying to navigate a changing world. Chong's performance anchors the film, bringing his signature comedic timing and a surprisingly earnest portrayal to the role. It's a film that, despite its modest critical reception, invites viewers to embark on a peculiar, yet heartfelt, adventure alongside its unconventional protagonist.
