Far From Home: Sam's Army offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of Sam Hughes, a figure of considerable influence and controversy during Canada's involvement in World War I. The documentary delves into his unique leadership style as Minister of Militia and Defence, highlighting his consolidation of power and his unwavering, albeit sometimes misguided, faith in the Ross rifle.
