FALL TO GRACE

Cinemavixion Review

Mari Marchbanks' debut film, "Fall to Grace," is a surprisingly potent drama that weaves together disparate lives with an 'epic heart.' The narrative centers on Kristofer, a Russian-Georgian emigrant navigating the challenges of a new country, a new school, and the demanding world of varsity sports. Burdened by his father's anger and economic struggles, Kristofer finds solace in basketball and a natural charm. However, his world takes an unexpected turn when Sarah, a young woman battling her own demons with substance abuse, reciprocates his advances. Sarah's struggles with drug use escalate, creating a desperate need for money that leads her to consider a risky plan involving a shoebox of cash and a police officer father. As these individual storylines converge, the film explores the profound and often invisible connections that bind us, ultimately offering a message of hope and resilience. "Fall to Grace" is a thoughtful exploration of shared humanity and the safety nets we unknowingly provide for one another.
