FALL OF THE YAKUZA?

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the complex and fading world of the Yakuza, Japan’s notorious organized crime syndicates. As the Japanese government escalates its efforts to dismantle these groups, the film poses a compelling question: are the Yakuza a destructive force or a peculiar byproduct of a society that values order above all else? The narrative explores the aging membership and the societal implications of their decline, prompting viewers to consider the Yakuza's role within Japan's remarkably low crime statistics. It’s a thought-provoking examination of tradition, crime, and the shifting landscape of Japanese society, offering a glimpse into a subculture on the brink of obsolescence.
