Cinemavixion Review

In the bustling village of Dafen, Shenzhen, a remarkable transformation is underway. This documentary offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of artists who have dedicated themselves to the meticulous craft of replicating Western masterpieces, particularly Van Gogh. What begins as a testament to China's 'Made in China' era, evolves into a profound narrative of transition. We witness the peasant-turned-oil painters not merely copying iconic works, but embarking on a journey of artistic self-discovery, moving towards creating their own authentic pieces. This evolution mirrors China's broader shift towards 'Created in China,' presenting a compelling portrait of cultural and economic metamorphosis through the lens of art.
