FAIRY TALES

Cinemavixion Review

Harry Hurwitz's 1978 film "Fairy Tales" embarks on a peculiar quest, following a prince on his twenty-first birthday as he navigates the land in search of his ideal companion, none other than Princess Sleeping Beauty. This comedic fantasy, starring Don Sparks, Sy Richardson, and Irwin Corey, offers a distinctive take on classic archetypes, blending adventure with a mature sense of humor. While not a mainstream blockbuster, its unique premise and the performances of its lead actors provide a memorable viewing experience for those seeking an unconventional fairy tale. The film's blend of humor and fantasy, coupled with its straightforward narrative, makes it a curious artifact of 70s cinema, inviting audiences to explore a world where familiar stories are retold with a provocative twist.
