EXHUME

Cinemavixion Review

Scott Poiley's "Exhume" plunges viewers into a chilling narrative centered on Patrick Connor, whose life takes a grim turn after accepting a position at a derelict reformatory camp. The film masterfully builds an atmosphere of dread, drawing from its unsettling premise of exhuming bodies from a site with a dark history of abuse. Poiley skillfully employs suspense, creating a palpable sense of unease as Patrick and his wife confront not only the physical remnants of the past but also the unnatural forces that seem to linger. The performances effectively convey the psychological toll of their disturbing task, making "Exhume" a compelling watch for those drawn to atmospheric horror that delves into the psychological impact of uncovering buried secrets. Its narrative, reportedly inspired by true events, adds an extra layer of disquiet to this effectively chilling cinematic experience.
