EVERYTHING I AM

Cinemavixion Review

Robbie Fatt's "Everything I Am" (2022) offers a poignant exploration of faith and compassion through the story of Rachel (Angelika Martin), a young woman who extends a hand of Christian charity to Nathaniel (Nathan Wong), a homeless Filipino Australian. Rejected by his family, Nathaniel finds himself adrift on the unforgiving streets, a reality starkly contrasted by Rachel's immediate empathy. While her roommate Emily (Lauren Martin) exhibits less enthusiasm, Rachel's concern leads her to invite Nathaniel into her daily life, offering him solace and a chance at a new beginning. The film highlights Nathaniel's aspiration to become a doctor, a dream seemingly out of reach until Rachel facilitates an opportunity through her church friend Mark (Scott Jay), who offers him a job in direct marketing. This narrative arc promises a compelling examination of second chances and the transformative power of kindness. Despite its modest production and limited distribution, the film's earnest themes and central performances, particularly from Martin and Wong, anchor its emotional core. It stands as a testament to the impact of individual action in fostering hope and redemption.
