EVERYBODY DIES BY THE END

Cinemavixion Review

In the realm of independent horror, few films manage to be as self-aware and meta as "Everybody Dies by the End." Directed by Ian Tripp and Ryan Schafer, this 2022 mockumentary-style horror film plunges viewers into the final days of cult director Alfred Costella's career. As a documentary crew captures his process, Costella embarks on what he promises will be his magnum opus – a practical effects-driven horror film with a twist. The film cleverly uses its behind-the-scenes premise to explore the often-blurry lines between art, obsession, and the grotesque. Featuring strong performances from Vinny Curran, Bill Oberst Jr., and Brendan Cahalan, "Everybody Dies by the End" not only pays homage to the golden age of practical effects but also offers a poignant, albeit dark, commentary on the sacrifices made in the pursuit of cinematic legacy. With a reported 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, this indie gem is a must-watch for fans of meta-horror and character-driven narratives.
