EUGENE TERREBLANCHE: INSIDE SOUTH AFRICA'S FAR RIGHT LEADER

Cinemavixion Review

Nick Broomfield, a documentarian renowned for his unflinching gaze into the controversial, turns his lens towards Eugene Terreblanche, the former leader of South Africa's Afrikaner Resistance Movement (AWB). This film delves into the complex and often disturbing landscape of white supremacy in a nation undergoing seismic political transformation. Broomfield captures Terreblanche in the post-apartheid era, a figure grappling with his legacy and attempting to navigate a 'new South Africa' after his release from prison. The documentary offers a rare, albeit unsettling, opportunity to observe a figurehead of a radical movement confronting the obsolescence of his ideology in a radically altered society. Broomfield's signature style promises an intimate, challenging portrait, forcing viewers to confront uncomfortable truths about extremism and societal change.
