ENTOMBED

Cinemavixion Review

In the chilling landscape of a post-collapse near future, Kjell Hammerø's "Entombed" plunges viewers into a claustrophobic thriller where the greatest threats may lie not in the ravaged world above, but in the hidden depths below. The film masterfully crafts a sense of escalating dread as Seamus, a lone survivor on a desperate flight, seeks refuge in a subterranean shelter. However, his sanctuary becomes a crucible when he discovers he is not alone. The narrative skillfully unravels the complex dynamics and hidden dangers within this confined space, suggesting that humanity's primal instincts can be more perilous than any external catastrophe. With a compelling performance from Jan Neal Holden and a taut direction, "Entombed" is a thought-provoking exploration of survival, trust, and the darkness that can fester when isolation meets desperation. This Norwegian production, recognized with multiple awards, offers a grim yet captivating vision of a world pushed to its brink.
