EN MASSE

Cinemavixion Review

En Masse, a 2022 film directed by Shaun Hume, plunges viewers into a disorienting spiral as two friends grapple with a mass hallucination of unknown origin. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating paranoia, blurring the lines between reality and delusion. Hume’s direction skillfully navigates the psychological descent, supported by compelling performances from Michael Ballard, Emma Barratt, and Yossi van den Berg, who embody the confusion and terror of their characters with striking authenticity. En Masse is a thought-provoking exploration of perception and the fragility of the mind, inviting audiences to question what they see and experience. Its compact narrative and intense focus on the characters' internal states make for a compelling and unsettling cinematic journey.
