ELLIOT

Cinemavixion Review

"Elliot" is a thought-provoking short film from 2017 that delves into the existential anxieties of a lonely maintenance worker. Set within the stark confines of a controlled universe, the narrative follows Elliot as he grapples with his identity, a journey that plunges him into a disorienting exploration of self-discovery and harsh inner realities. The film, directed by Craig Jacobson and featuring performances by Joshua Coffy, Cassandra Sechler, and Jacobson himself, masterfully uses its dystopian setting to explore themes of escapism and the blurred lines between reality and artificial worlds. While the film's runtime is brief, its exploration of psychological distress and the human desire for a more idealized existence leaves a lasting impression, inviting viewers to contemplate the nature of their own realities.
