EGYPT'S LOST QUEENS

Cinemavixion Review

Professor Joann Fletcher guides us through the often-overlooked corridors of power in ancient Egypt in "Egypt's Lost Queens." This insightful documentary, brought to life through the lens of buildings and artifacts, masterfully reconstructs the lives of four formidable female rulers. Fletcher's expertise shines as she details a society where women held significant influence, challenging conventional narratives of patriarchal dominance. The film compellingly argues that these queens were not mere consorts but active agents in shaping Egyptian history, holding titles of power and authority. "Egypt's Lost Queens" is a vital exploration, offering a fresh perspective on a civilization renowned for its grandeur, and highlighting the crucial, yet often sidelined, contributions of its female leaders. It's a journey into the past that resonates with contemporary discussions on gender and power.
