Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the chilling true narrative of Ed Gein, a figure whose depravity cast a long shadow over cinematic horror. Set in the seemingly tranquil landscape of 1950s Wisconsin, the film meticulously reconstructs the grim reality behind Gein's quiet facade. It recounts the shocking initial discovery by authorities—a woman's corpse found suspended in his shed, evoking macabre imagery. The subsequent exploration of his residence unveiled a true house of horrors, where human remains were disturbingly repurposed into household items and even a skin suit. The documentary further probes Gein's morbid fixation on his deceased mother, revealing his obsession with grave robbing as a means to resurrect her image. This unflinching look at a real-life monster undeniably shaped the trajectory of horror filmmaking, providing inspiration for countless cinematic villains and narratives.
